The Honda Fit might just be one of the most practical small cars you can buy. And the Porsche Macan is definitely one of the most expensive small SUVs on the market. Both are recent additions to the test fleet here at Consumer Reports, and we talk about each on episode 43 of our “Talking Cars” podcast.
Like the last two generations of Fit, the 2015 redesign remains a marvel of space utilization. Refinement, feature content, and power are improved—all at a reasonable price tag. Porsche’s new Macan carries over a lot of family traits: plenty of performance, fantastic handling, nice interior materials, lots of buttons, and an eye-watering price tag. Both cars had delayed introductions, an increasingly common occurrence among automakers.
In between discussing these two cars, we answer a listener question about our test results for the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, and GMC Yukon. Turns out a lot hinges on buying these big beasts with one particular option: GM’s magnetic ride control.
