Co-founder of the hip-hop music label Def Jam and entrepreneur Russell Simmons paid a visit to the Consumer Reports headquarters in Yonkers, N.Y., today, sparking some interesting discussions about changes to his RushCard prepaid card programs (included in our latest review of prepaid cards), the role of celebrity in philanthropic endeavors, and the best social-media platforms to spread information.
Here's a hint on that last point: You can follow Simmons' musings on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
During his visit, Simmons also expounded on other topics with David Butler, deputy director in the Washington, D.C. office of Consumers Union, the policy and advocacy arm of Consumer Reports, including why he finds Consumer Reports inspirational. Watch the video above.
