Sigma SD15 is an SLR you should avoid

Photographers who want better quality photos and more versatility usually opt for an SLR (single-lens reflex camera). Although most SLRs in our ratings are recommended, there is one that stands out in a less-than-stellar way: The Sigma SD15 ($929).

The SD15 got the worst image-quality scores of any of the advanced cameras we've tested. Yet it's among the most expensive models in our digital camera Ratings. It's also the heaviest and is more difficult to use than almost all other SLRs. To top it off, the SD15 doesn't offer a live-view LCD and can't capture video, as can most other advanced models.
